This NAIDOC Week, we celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of First Nations peoples. It’s a time for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and to join in honouring the world’s oldest continuous living cultures.

As we step into 2025, NAIDOC Week marks a powerful milestone: 50 years of celebrating and elevating Indigenous voices, culture and resilience. This year’s theme, "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy," reflects on the achievements of the past while looking to the future. It highlights the power of community vision, the strength of young leaders and the enduring legacy of ancestors.

The official 2025 NAIDOC Week poster, Ancestral Lines, was created by Jeremy Morgan Worrall, a proud Ngarbal/Gomeroi man. His artwork is a visual representation of the generational lines that run through mobs across Australia, including his own. Each figure in the painting is connected by family lines, symbolising elements of lore, care, love and knowledge. Set beneath the swirling clouds and moonlit skies of Tenterfield, the artwork pays tribute to the knowledge, care and cultural strength passed down through generations. Jeremy hopes the piece inspires young people by reminding them they come from strength, a legacy of survival, brilliance and pride.
